Public hearings
-
Public hearing: special permit for event center at 1801 N. Plano Road
The council will hold a public hearing on Zoning File 23-08, a request to allow an approximately 5,900-square-foot event center inside an existing roughly 9,300-square-foot building on a 1.96-acre lot at 1801 N. Plano Road, near the corner of Plano Road and Digital Drive. The property is currently zoned Collins/Arapaho TOD & Innovation District PD Planned Development (Employment Sub-District).
Approving this special permit would allow a new event venue to operate in a transit-oriented development zone near Plano Road, potentially affecting traffic, parking, and neighborhood character in that area.
Action items
-
Adopt Ordinance No. 4472: UTD/Points at Waterview TOD planned development rezoning
Council is asked to adopt Ordinance No. 4472, which would rezone a 35.92-acre tract on the south side of Waterview Parkway — generally east of Frankford Road and bounded on the south by the DART Silver Line — from TO-M Technical Office and PD Planned Development to a new PD Planned Development called the UTD/Points at Waterview-TOD Planned Development District. The ordinance would adopt use and development regulations, a concept plan, street typology cross sections, and an existing structure alternative exhibit.
This large rezoning near the DART Silver Line could significantly shape how land adjacent to UTD is developed, including what buildings, uses, and street layouts are allowed in a transit-oriented area.
